His only son, Andrew was born in 1987.
He moved to Dumfries in May 1988 to begin a new career in Education and worked there until July 2004.
During this time he also served God as an elder but also as a Council Member of Tilsley College Council and of mission agency, Interlink.
He was also engaged in a partnership with Romanian churches that lasts until now.
He pursued his secular career and was appointed Principal of Upper Bann Institute
in Northern Ireland before coming back to Scotland, again as Principal, to Elmwood College in Fife.
On his return he became an elder in his local church in Dundee.
His son Andrew married Susanna Vang of the Faroe Islands having met her at Tilsley College.
On 27 March 2012 Jim’s wife of 31 year died from cancer. One week after Elzbeth died, Jim’s grandson Benjamin was born at Dundee on 3 April 2013.
He left secular employment in October 2012 and had an itinerant ministry in churches across Scotland, a Trustee of Echoes of Service
(now Echoes International), a Church Advisor with the Church Strengthening Initiative and the Joshua Project of Tilsley College (and a GLO worker).
He also became heavily involved with the European Leadership Forum and is still actively engaged in mentoring Pastors across Europe.
More recently this mentoring ministry has expanded as an Associate with Living Leadership.

His third grandchild, Ester Elisabet was born in Faroe on 31 March 2020 and he has yet to hold her.
Jim’s faith affiliations have been with brethren-origin churches and independent evangelical churches
although he is used on an itinerant basis in many churches of an evangelical character.
